Mattis more performance and Reshade
Improves performance (stable) + Reshade
Tested on modest Zotac RTX 4060 with only 8 GB
My reshade looks much better because the grass and the color look more natural and the environment feels better.
In the original, as always, everything is far too blurry, and the textures in particular are “poison”, if you know what I mean.
I hate that.
What else I changed:
– Changed NVidia driver from 566.03 to 566.14.
– MSI Afterburner: Power limit set from 100% to 75%.
– MSI Afterburner: Memory clock increased by 70 MHz
Since then (and with the mods and tips shown below) the game has been running absolutely smoothly without any problems. Everything is absolutely great.
Install
1:
Download STALKER OPTIMIZER:
https://www.stalker2mod.com/stalker-optimizer-v1-0/
Copy included file ‘ZZFrancisLouisSO_P.pak’ to ..\Stalker2\Content\Paks\~mods
(Yes: “~mods”, not “mods”.)
2:
A) Download my file here on Nexus and just copy the file ‘GameUserSettings.ini’ into
c:\Users\[username]\appdata\Local\Stalker2\Saved\Config\Windows\
You play with 1600 x 900.
1920 x 1080 does not look better. Really not.
Additionally, scrolling is smoother at 1600 x 900. (The lower the resolution, the more noticeable this effect is.)
B) And just copy the Reshade-Data from zip to ..\STALKER2\Stalker2\Binaries\Win64\
(Reshade settings with ‘home’ and ‘end’.)
3:
Let the shader generation run once. Then exit the game.
Download NO SHADER WARMUP:
https://www.stalker2mod.com/no-shader-warmup/
Copy included file ‘No_Shader_Warmup_p.pak’ to ..\Stalker2\Content\Paks\
The game start is accelerated considerably.
(If only there weren’t all these “new-fashioned” “hints” that you have to look at beforehand. I hate that like the plague. –> Click on game -> ONE logo -> main menu? Still possible these days? Weird. It used to be possible. Not anymore.)
The game start is made much faster.
Yippee. Modders can do what game developers can’t.

If you want to use other graphics settings, that’s up to you. I’m doing pretty, pretty well with (exactly) these settings (in conjunction with my reshade) and am extremely happy with the performance.
I play consistently between around 33 and 60 FPS. That’s enough for me. I limited it to 60 FPS. That does indeed increase performance. But everything is already preset in my graphics settings!

Use a trainer from the start and only activate “Zero Weight” and “Invinite Equipment Durability”. Why? Very simple: Because the opposite of that kills the fun of the game. But otherwise don’t use any trainer options, because that is a real game killer and makes the whole point of the game obsolete. That’s the way it is, and I’ve studied the psychological effect behind it extensively and I know what I’m talking about.
