Petey’s Remove Interact Dots (no .cfg file conflicts)
Remove the pesky dots over items, doors, and interactables by adjusting a single texture file, rather than a line in .cfg file that would likely lead to conflicts with other mods.
Pretty straightforward – an easy fix for the annoying dots that show up over every item, door, and interactable when you enter a room. The previous fix for this was adjusting a line in CoreVariables.cfg, but that’s a common file to modify for different mods, so it tended to break on conflicts.
I’ve gone in, found the texture for the dot itself and replaced it with an empty image file. No more conflicts!
If tidying up your UI is something you’re after, check out my full-bore Clean UI mod – which gets rid of the cartoonish grime over everything, and has versions that strip it down to just the bare necessities. Included in that is also a version with Dualsense icons for controller prompts.
There’s an optional version on the Files page where the dot size has been reduced by 50%, rather than eliminated entirely.
Installation:
Extract the three included files (.pak, .utoc, .ucas) to the following path. If the folder “~mods” doesn’t exist, create one. The ‘~’ is necessary.
