Huge STALKER 2 Update: Mods on Xbox and PC, Achievements Too!
Exciting news has dropped for STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl fans, especially those playing on Xbox Series X and S. GSC Game World has confirmed that STALKER 2 will support mods on these consoles, a first for the series on platforms outside of PC. With mod support, STALKER 2 will offer players the ability to customize and personalize their gaming experience directly on console, a rare feature that expands player creativity and gameplay depth.
Technical producer Evgeniy Kulik at GSC Game World revealed that the team is developing a comprehensive modding toolkit for both PC and Xbox players. This toolkit will empower modders, whether they’re creating small tweaks or massive overhauls, to shape their unique versions of STALKER 2. Kulik shared that many team members began their careers as modders, making this mod support a passion project within the studio. STALKER has a rich history of mods, with fan-made modifications like Anomaly and Gamma adding new layers to the original trilogy. Now, STALKER 2 aims to carry on that legacy, bringing that creativity to console players.
One unique aspect of STALKER 2’s mod support on Xbox is that it won’t interfere with achievements, a refreshing twist. In many games, modding disables achievements, but with STALKER 2, players can enjoy mods and still collect in-game achievements, preserving the thrill of accomplishment. Console players will get the best of both worlds: customization without losing the satisfaction of achievement hunting.
While it’s still unconfirmed if mod support will be available on launch day, STALKER 2 will release on November 20th, bringing its first wave of content to Xbox Game Pass.
