Stop NPCs X-Ray Vision and Other Collision Tweaks
This is for a set of engine.ini changes. These are all optional. There are two sections I would recommend to use for sure. One deals with fixing up some unfinished Collision profiles/channel settings. This will help with things like preventing NPCs from seeing through terrain, objects. The second jailbreaks NPCs from being paused when in offline.
Instructions
These will need to go in the bottom of you’re engine.ini. If you do not have one you will need to create one.
You can also try out Yerts Engine. Just make sure to read the comments in the file for adjusting VRam & NumUnusedShaderCompilingThreads to your cpu physical core count. There are also some other settings that can be customized.
Engine.ini Location: %localappdata%\Stalker2\Saved\Config\Windows
These additions will also be included in a file with Shay’s Living Zone. Updates will likely appear here quicker and I will be able to help answer questions/issues specific to these additions.
If you’re not really having performance issues and are happy with your current setup, you can skip this section.
Otherwise it might be worth a try. It’s a mix between 1.0 and 1.1.3 settings.
[/Script/Engine.GarbageCollectionSettings]
This is an attempt to make garbage collection smoother and less heavy. Should also help with runaway memory issues.
If you’re not really having performance issues and are happy with your current setup, you can skip this section.
Otherwise it might be worth a try.
[/Script/Engine.StreamingSettings]
These settings adjust the timeouts for updating/removing visual elements as the map areas are loading into view.
I recommend adding this section.
[/Script/Engine.CollisionProfile]
This fixes up Collision profiles/Channel settings that the devs haven’t finished yet. This will effect how some things interact with the world/objects. Like helping to prevent NPCs from seeing through things such as terrain, walls and objects for example.
I recommend adding this section.
[CoreRedirects], [Staging], [/Script/UnrealEd.ProjectPackagingSettings]
This jailbreaks NPCs so they can continue traveling while in Offline. Unknown what else it might have an effect on. However no specific issues observed during testing with Shay’s Living Zone have been reported so far.
