Fixing the gaming experience STALKER 2
This set of modifications is designed to globally correct the gaming experience of playing S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2.
The changes include:
1. Artifact balancing. I have adjusted artifacts to make them more useful and less overpowered (and to provide more SoC-ish experience). Jellyfish, Twist, and Bubble now decrease radiation poisoning. Artifacts that were only found in Shadow of Chernobyl now have same stats as in SoC. New artifacts have been balanced in price and properties to be more useful.
2. Weapon rebalance by damage and wear. Weapons obtained in the second half of the game now deal more damage than their counterparts in the first part. I have also tried to equalize 5.56 and 5.45 to offer more variety in weapon choice. The goal was to maintain the required damage to kill an opponent throughout the game, as enemies in the second part are stronger and beefy.
3. AI improvements (somewhat reminiscent of A-Life 2.0 system with author’s configuration). I have slightly improved encounters with NPCs to make them more challenging and engaging. Shoutout to the author of Roadside Panic mod for the initial base.
4. Added and balanced loot from mutants. Loot from mutants has been added and balanced to improve the gameplay. Prices and weight have been adjusted to avoid damaging the original game’s economy. Shoutout to the author of Mutant Loot mod for the initial base.
5. Reduced repair costs. Repairing weapons and armor costs less to improve the gameplay.
6. Fixed dialog and loot distance. I have fixed the distance required to start dialogues and loot stashes/corpses.
7. Skif’s Pistol now does not count as a quest item and thus can be sold..8. Fall damage fix. I have fixed fall damage (without going extreme, of course) to avoid situations when falling from a height of 3 meters would result in instant death.
9. Effects that worked incorrectly or did not work at all were removed.
10. The Flame Pillar anomaly’s texture has been fixed and its range reduced by 25%.
11. Minor fixes. I have made several minor fixes to improve the gameplay and user experience. Replaced the death screen, replaced radio music, the game now mutes when paused, fixed walking on water, fixed weather behavior, added an improved ammo type icons, slightly changed running speed.
