Gameplay Hotfixes
This mod attempts to reduce pain points of the current design choices, while making as few changes as possible to ensure the original vision of the game is still intact. You can expect less bullet sponges, a slightly better economy, more realistic primary needs requirements and overall better quality of life.
Damage and Effects
Player damage is now no longer reduced on hard mode, to help alleviate the bullet sponge effect.
To keep it fair, external damage is also increased. Hunger requirements were reduced, and bleed severity increased drastically.
Economy
Quest rewards were increased, and kept static across difficulties.
Also, repair costs were reduced (keep in mind you will also be shooting less)
Creature HP
Another thing that was used to help with bullet sponginess was to reduce the HP of the creatures directly. Relative HP refers to the vanilla hard mode HP versus modded hard mode HP. This is because the modded hard mode keeps the damage multiplier at 1x instead of 0.75x
Movement and Stamina
Sprint was way too fast, it allowed the player to create a distance between the enemy at way too fast a pace. Considering you now run slower, you also use less stamina while running. Additionally, stamina usage was reduced for basic actions like Jump and Melee
Timescale
The default timescale was 24, which means the game time runs 24x slower than real life, so 1h of real time equals 24h of in-game time. Considering the sleepiness score was 0.01/s to a maximum of 100, that means it takes 10000 seconds (~3h of real time, or 3 days of game time) for the player character to feel sleepy. Very weird, so I fixed that.
The timescale is now 12 and the sleepiness score grows at 0.02/s, so this means that the day and night cycle take 1h each and your character starts feeling tired after 16h of in-game time (approximately 83 minutes of real time).
Mouse movement
Mouse X/Y movement is now equalized to a 1:1 ratio
Melee Hit Detection
For some reason, the melee range for your knife is 150 and the butstock is 100. That’s why it felt like you had T-rex arms when meleeing with your rifle.
Again, weird so I fixed it by increasing them both to 180.
