Leaked New Gameplay Footage of STALKER 2 Surfaces Online
Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl has endured a complex journey since its initial announcement in 2010. Originally scrapped, the project eventually found new life years later. The developers resurrected the game, hoping early development reveals would attract publishing support. Now, with a projected early 2024 release, anticipation is building. Recently, a leak provided fans a sneak peek into the game’s current state.
This leaked footage, likely to be taken down soon, was highlighted by Insider Gaming. Spanning about twenty minutes, it shows an early build of the game, where graphics are still being refined, and only some gameplay elements, like bolt-throwing and limited combat with mutants, are visible.
Previously, development builds of the game had been leaked, posing challenges for the team. Further complicating matters was the Russian invasion of Ukraine, necessitating the relocation of the studio from Kyiv to Prague. This move, aimed at ensuring the team’s safety, has contributed to pushing the release into 2024.
Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl is set after a massive 2006 explosion that altered the Chornobyl Exclusion Zone. Players will explore this hazardous area as a stalker, hunting for valuable artifacts amidst the dangers. The game promises a branching storyline, indicating potential for significant replayability. While an official release date is still pending, the game is expected to be available on Xbox Series X/S and PC.
