Description
Currently 2 different themes of controller button styles, for Playstation controllers. StrangUI PS GSC which is a neat representation of GSC’s standard Xbox layout. StrangUI PS Modern is a clean, simple more modern looking layout.Take your pick, it’s not possible to use both!
Installation
Download the mod file in your theme of choice.
Extract the contents to `Steam\steamapps\common\S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 Heart of Chornobyl\Stalker2\Content\Paks\~mods`
If there’s no `~mods` folder in your Paks directory, create a new folder and name it `~mods`.
Launch the game and enjoy your Playstation icons.
Compatibility
Any other mods that target the games controller/button layouts will not be compatible. This mod does not touch any other UI aspects.
Bonus – Baseline for others to create your own
It probably took me longer to build the Photoshop layout to create this mod than anything, so I’ve decided to share it as a baseline for anyone else that would like to try modding their own button styles. Wiimote layout next? The game references the same icons in multiple folders/locations, sometimes with slightly different names and base resolution, which means you can’t just create a single version of each icon and be “one and done”.
Under optional files you’ll find the PSD I created to design this mod, with a streamlined workflow setup to make life much easier. All that’s required is to edit any of the layers under the “Master Icons” artboard. Make sure to edit the smart object for each button and once you’re done, it will automatically update the correct size/scaling/naming for the duplicate versions of the same button. I’d recommend setting up a folder structure somewhere that matches the games, each artboard lists the directory following on from “Content\GameLite\FPS_Game\UIRemaster\UITextures\”. You can then Export As > export the assets from each artboard into said folders and know they will all be correctly scaled/sized etc.
